Overview of broadcasting licensing

The Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA) licenses broadcasting services in accordance with the Communications Act 2012 and the Broadcasting Code 2022. Broadcasting licenses authorize the transmission of sound and television content to the public within specified coverage areas.

Complaints procedure

A consumer who is aggrieved by a service provider should lodge a complaint with the service provider within a period of ninety (90) days from the date the service was provided or as per the agreement with the service provider.

When lodging a complaint to a service provider, a consumer may send a copy of the complaint to the Authority for information purposes only.

In the event that a consumer is not satisfied with the resolution of the complaint by the service provider, a consumer may refer the matter to the Authority.

The types of consumer complaints to lodge may include the following: 

  1. Service provision issues relating to connection, billing information, faults, timely provision of service, automatic service renewal contracts. 
  2. Postal and Courier Service Providers issues relating to billing information, lost, missing, damaged, delayed items and contractual obligations; and 
  3. Radio and Television broadcasting content
