The LCA issues broadcasting licenses in four categories for both sound (radio) and television services:
- Commercial Broadcasting – For-profit stations generating revenue through advertising and sponsorships.
- Community Broadcasting – Non-profit stations serving specific communities with educational and developmental content
- Private Broadcasting – Stations operated by private entities, including religious, educational, or specialized content providers.
- Public Broadcasting – State/public broadcasting services providing universal access to information and education.
Each license type has specific validity periods and regulatory requirements aligned with its purpose and scope of service.
